Mission Overview

Course
Approximately 18 NM, flown gate-to-gate through three target areas that step down in altitude
Gates
Two precision air gates — Start and Finish. Competitors must pass through each gate; missing a gate applies a time penalty.
Route
Flow through three target areas sequentially, decreasing in altitude from the Start gate down to the Finish gate
Targets
Target 1 — Large Frame Aircraft (LFA), in orbit
Target 2 — Medium-sized fighter, in orbit
Target 3 — Unmanned Aircraft (UA), in orbit
All three targets spawn and enter their orbits when the aircraft passes through the Start gate — the target areas are empty until Start-gate crossing.
Timing
Starts: passing through the Start gate
Stops: passing through the Finish gate
Stops early if the aircraft crashes into terrain, a gate, or a target aircraft

Scoring — Total Score Time

Total Score Time (sec) = RT + (60 × MG) + (90 × MT) − SRB
RTRaw Time — seconds from the aircraft piercing the Start gate plane to piercing the Finish gate plane. If a crash occurs, RT stops at crash time.
MGMissed Gates — gates contacted, skipped, or remaining after a crash
MTMissed Targets — targets still airborne when the aircraft pierces the Finish gate plane or crashes
SRBSaved Rounds Bonus — efficiency bonus based on remaining ammunition, awarded only when all three targets are splashed. A competitor who saves rounds but leaves a target flying receives no SRB.

Cleared Gate & Penalties

Cleared Gate Definition

A gate is cleared when the entire aircraft passes through the gate plane without contacting the gate structure. A gate that is contacted, skipped, or remains after a crash is counted as a Missed Gate (MG).
Missed Gate Penalty
Each missed gate adds a 60-second penalty to Total Score Time.
Missed Target Penalty
A target is SPLASHED when the DCS damage model removes the target from flight or the target crashes. Each target still flying when the aircraft pierces the Finish gate or crashes adds a 90-second penalty to Total Score Time.

Normalized Score — Accuracy Display Score (ADS)

Your Total Score Time (ATST) is normalized to a 0–100 ADS, so a higher score wins.
ADS = 100 × (AZERO − ATST) / (AZERO − ABEST)
ABEST85.19 sec = 100 (a flawless, max-efficiency run)
AZERO335.19 sec = 0 (zero-point anchor — slower runs score 0)
ATSTYour Total Score Time, in seconds
ADSAccuracy Display Score, 0–100
Clamp
ADS is clamped at a floor of 0 — no run scores below zero. The ceiling is open: ABEST sits at the measured physical limit of the course, so a score above 100 triggers an automatic scoring review.
